About Us
Our Story
The Swim Academy of So Cal originated from Coach Tricia Orness' private backyard swim lessons. The students Tricia were teaching were having great success early on in their lessons. The backyard program grew rapidly through word of mouth referrals. After just two years of teaching lessons full time and a growing waiting list, Tricia realized she needed to start teaching teachers to use the scope and sequence, the visual vocabulary and different psychological techniques that were causing the success of her students.
Meet The Team
Tricia Orness
Founder & CEO
Tricia has been coaching for 35 years. She has a degree in Athletic Training from San Diego State University. She has had success coaching all levels from babies to elite levels.
Isadora Dickman
Swim Instructor
Isadora began instructing with us in June 2022. She began her competitive swimming in high school where she swam all four years. Her favorite event was the 500 yd Freestyle. Isadora has a wicked sense of humor and loves working with the children.

Carina Lindfield
Swim Instructor/ Coach SHCC
Carina began instructing with us in March 2023. She has been a competitive swimmer most of her life
Carina loves the kids and the technical aspects of the competitive strokes.
Garrett Orness
Swim Instructor
Garrett began his coaching career with the Calabasas High School summer camp program in 2015. He is excited to bring his love of swimming here. Garrett was a competitive swimmer for 9 years and is a former Junior Olympic Champion in the 200 M Breaststroke as well as a top 5 finalist at the high school CIF Championships in the 50 Yd Freestyle
Kenzy Attia
Swim Instructor
Kenzy began instructing with us in May of 2024. She swam competitively in both USA swim clubs and through her Alma Mater Newbury Park High School. Kenzy loves children and having the ability to share her love of the water with them.
Claire Lewon
Swim Instructor
Claire began instructing with us in June 2023. She began competitive swimming on her high school team and immediately fell in love with the sport. Claire swam all four years in high school, with three of those years being on the Varsity team and was also the Captain of her high school team. Claire's best events were the 100 yd Butterfly and 100 yd Breaststroke.
