How does The Swim Academy of So Cal teach a fearful swimmer? At The Swim Academy of So Cal, we believe in meeting the swimmer where they are at. We encourage parents to be nearby if they have a fearful swimmer. As long as the swimmer is using their adult as a source of encouragement to keep going, not to try to get out of the lesson, we prefer that adult stays nearby, as it can help with separation anxiety and working as a team to have a child gain confidence that their adult trusts the instructor. We do not "dunk" anyone that is not ready to go under. Several steps are used to get a fearful swimmer to a place of more comfort in order to conquer any fear of being under. When it comes to fearful adults, the first thing we teach is how to get from a prone position to a standing position so they can begin to feel comfortable in the water. Our scope and sequence is addresses every step from fear to success!

Do I need to be a member of a Country Club to enroll in lessons? Some of our country clubs allow non-members to take lessons at their club. When on the Our Locations, the clubs that allow non-members will have a button for non-member enrollment. Country Club members have a locked page in which they get the password to their private page from their country club.
